CANTON, Miss. (WLBT) – A significant flash flood threat is bearing down on central Mississippi, with forecasters warning of widespread flooding, road closures and possible water rescues through the end of the week.
The National Weather Service in Jackson issued a Level 3, Significant flash flood threat for much of central and southwest Mississippi Tuesday, with an additional round of heavy rain expected Thursday. Forecasters say four to six inches of rain, locally higher, could fall across the region in a short period.
