The New Lenox Fire Protection District (NLFPD) responded to a structure fire this morning in the 19400 block of S. Parker Road, bringing the blaze under control within minutes of arrival.
At 8:03 a.m., NLFPD crews were dispatched to a report of a structure fire. While enroute to the scene, firefighters received updated reports indicating that one individual might still be inside the residence. However, upon arrival at 8:08 a.m., crews confirmed that all residents had successfully and safely evacuated the home.
First-arriving units observed smoke showing from the exterior of the structure. Firefighters made rapid entry into the home and encountered heavy fire and smoke conditions originating in the walk-out basement, which was extending into the first floor…
