ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Demolition on the former Sweet Basil Cafe/TGI Fridays building on the CherryVale Mall outlot took place on Tuesday to make way for a new car wash.
Sweet Basil Cafe last occupied the site, opening in 2021 and closing permanently in June 2025.
The Cherry Valley Village Board voted to approve a permit to install a car wash on the site in February 2026.
