ROCKFORD — Comprehensive Community Solutions held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday in a joint celebration of its newly renovated lower level and its 34th year of service to youth and families in the region.
The remodeled lower level includes updated offices, a community room, new bathrooms and a gym. A locker room and a game room are still under construction. That’s part of a multitude of improvements made over the last few years to the property at 917 S. Main St., the former Mott Brothers Co. campus. That includes solar panels on the roof, second floor improvements, and 6,000 square feet of renovations made to the third floor in 2023.
“Inside this main building there’s 45,000 square feet, and we renovated from the roof on down, internally and externally,” said William Chatman, CEO and executive director of CCS. “The radiant colors of our building serve as a beacon to our community that CCS is a place of hope, of opportunity and transformation where individuals and families can access and support resources and pathways needed to build brighter futures.”…
