Springfield man dies after crossing center line in Highway 126 head-on crash

LANE COUNTY, Ore. — A Springfield man was killed in a crash Monday on Highway 126 in Lane County, Oregon State Police reported.

Just before 4 p.m. on June 15, OSP troopers responded to the three-vehicle crash near milepost 52.

Police say a red Mazda3 driven by John Michael Unrein, 46, of Springfield, was westbound on Hwy 126 near Fisher Road when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason and collided head-on with an eastbound white Chevrolet Equinox driven by Gina Mae Nix, 51, of Veneta…
