If the summer solstice celebrations across Anchorage still aren’t enough, there’s one more uniquely Alaskan tradition drawing attention this year: a trampoline hauled to the top of Flattop Mountain.
For the past several years, hikers have taken part in the unusual project by carrying trampoline pieces up the mountain trail and assembling them at the summit just in time for the longest day of the year. The result is part hike, part community effort, and part unforgettable photo opportunity.
“Honestly, it’s just kind of a lot of fun,” said event organizer Alex Cerny. “Traveling on top of a mountain. I mean, it’s unique. It’s fun. You know, you get cool views. There’s always a lot of people. Everybody’s always having a good time.”…
