Wind advisory issued for parts of Northeast Ohio as 50 mph gusts follow storms

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A wind advisory has been issued for parts of Northeast Ohio, where gusty winds will remain a concern Thursday even after a round of overnight thunderstorms moves through the region.

The advisory will be in effect from midnight Wednesday night to 6 p.m. Thursday for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland. Erie County, Pennsylvania, also is included.

Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph are expected, with gusts up to 50 mph possible. The weather service said winds that strong could blow around unsecured objects, bring down tree limbs, cause a few power outages and make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles…
