Woman dies after crash in Burlington at intersection of Maple Avenue, Tucker Street; man charged, police say

BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) — A woman died after a crash in Burlington earlier this month, and a man was charged on Tuesday, according to a Burlington Police Department news release.

On June 10, 2026, around 11:59 a.m., Burlington officers, Burlington firefighters and Alamance County EMS responded to the intersection of Maple Avenue and Tucker Street when they were told about a crash involving two vehicles.

Investigators identified the drivers of both vehicles and determined Calvin J. Walker, 40, of Burlington, caused the crash due to a red light violation. Walker was cited on the scene.
