Teen shooter laughed at Baton Rouge dad when asked to ‘stop being a coward’ in court

A Baton Rouge father, shot four times last year while defending his daughter from bullying, told the 19-year-old shooter in court Wednesday that he should “stop being a coward” and accept responsibility.

But all Jerry Huggins, 19, did in response was laugh, mumble back and slump down in his chair for the rest of the proceeding.

Huggins’ interruption made Judge Louise Hines say she regretted accepting his Monday plea deal, which reduced his attempted second-degree murder charge down to a count of aggravated second-degree battery…
