A former independent contractor has filed a lawsuit a-gainst Alamance County’s government for allegedly failing to pay more than $157,000 for information technology services he claims to have provided to the county between July 2024 and March 2025.
The lawsuit was filed in Alamance County civil superior court by Mike Caf-frey, former vice president and partner in Avero Infrastructure, an IT company based in Mary-ville, Tennessee. Caf-frey is now self-employed as an IT modernization consultant, according to his online resume.
