LANSING, Mich. (News 10) – The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about increasingly sophisticated scams designed to convince victims to hand over money.
Authorities say scammers are not only impersonating law enforcement agencies but also posing as trusted organizations to gain credibility.
According to deputies, one recent scam involves callers instructing victims to withdraw $20,000 from their bank accounts and deliver the money to the sheriff’s office.
