Hononegah Names New Head Cheer Coach as Open Gym Dates Approach

Hononegah is turning the page to a new era in its cheer program, officially naming Kelsey Johnson as the next head cheer coach. Johnson, 24, is a preschool teacher by day and a familiar face on the sidelines. “One thing I value most in coaching is remaining truthful and honest with everyone around me,” Johnson said. “I am excited to return this year as head, and I hope to have a fun-filled football sideline season.”

As she settles into the role, Johnson is already preparing to meet the next wave of athletes. Hononegah has announced a series of open gym sessions, giving interested cheerleaders a chance to work skills, meet the new coach, and get a feel for the upcoming season…
