‘Recycle Right’ campaign kicks off in Akron

AKRON, Ohio — The City of Akron and Keep Akron Beautiful have officially kicked off the next round of the Recycle Right campaign.

The campaign is part of a push to improve the quality of recycling in curbside carts through the provision of personalized and real-time curbside recycling education and feedback. It began on June 15 and will run through Friday, July 31.

Specially trained personnel will conduct curbside cart observations, and residents who have non-recyclables in their recycling carts will receive “Oops” tags along with direct feedback to improve the recycling cart’s content. These carts will not be emptied; instead, residents will have the chance to fix the issues and return the cart to the curb the following week…
