WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – MC Sha-Rock, a Wilmington native known as the “first lady of hip-hop,” will be inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
Born in 1962, Sha-Rock rose to prominence in the late 1970s as a founding member of Funky 4 + 1, helping shape early hip-hop with her microphone technique, lyrical delivery and live performances.
