ITD to close lanes overnight on Chinden Boulevard for sampling starting June 22

GARDEN CITY, Idaho (CBS2) — Drivers on Chinden Boulevard should prepare for overnight lane closures starting Monday, June 22, as the Idaho Transportation Department begins three nights of work to collect roadway samples ahead of a future pavement restoration project.

ITD plans to work on Chinden Boulevard (U.S. Highway 20/26) from Coffey Street to 30th Street from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night. A boring machine will occupy one lane while crews collect samples from 15 locations along the 3-mile stretch. Drivers should expect single-lane closures in the work zone during those hours.

The Garden City/Fairgrounds off-ramp from Interstate 184 is expected to close between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. during one night of work. ITD said 511 will be updated once the specific night of the ramp closure is determined. A signed detour will be in place during the closure…
