Two people were arrested during a drug bust in Belfast, including an elderly man accused of giving rides to dealers.

Maine and Massachusetts Men Charged with Drug Trafficking in Belfast

A Maine man and an out-of-stater were arrested on June 17, 2026.

  • Larry Metcalf, 80, of Swanville
  • Eduin Chala-Ramirez, 21, of Boston, Massachusetts

Both of the men are charged with aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs.

Maine DEA Says Elderly Belfast Man Allegedly Gave Rides to Out of State Drug Dealers

The charges stem from a months-long investigation into information that suggested Metcalf was giving out-of-state drug traffickers rides to local residences to sell their drugs.

Maine Drug Enforcement Officials received credible information that Metcalf was meeting someone at the bus station in Belfast on the 17th.
