GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Juneteenth commemorates the day that marks the end of slavery in the United States.

Here is a list of celebrations happening in the Upstate:

Greenville

  • Friday 9 a.m. to noon| 5th annual Juneteenth Celebration at Unity Park
  • The Parade begins at The Children’s Garden in Linky Stone Park at 9 a.m. and ends at the Prisma Health Welcome Center at Unity Park
  • The Greenville Welcome Center will host local artists, poetry readings, and writers sharing their work with the community.
  • Friday 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. | Freedom Celebration
  • “The L” on East Broad Street
  • Adult-only cookout with music and dancing

Mauldin

  • Saturday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. | Juneteenth: A Cultural Celebration
  • Mauldin Outdoor Amphitheater at on East Butler Road

Fountain Inn

  • Saturday 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. | Juneteenth Soul Food Festival
  • Main Street

Spartanburg

  • Friday 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. | Juneteenth Block Party
  • Morgan Square
  • Saturday 4 p.m. | Celebration Festival at Barnet Park

Woodruff

  • The City of Woodruff is hosting Juneteenth events all weekend.
  • Friday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. | The TAMS
  • Saturday 10 a.m. | Cornell Green, MAD Music
  • Sunday 4:30 p.m. | Gospel Explosion ft. Gospel Prophets, Nancy and the Anointed Voices
