86-year-old man hospitalized after off-leash dog attack in Dedham

Authorities in Dedham are working to identify a dog that attacked an 86-year-old man Thursday morning.

The man was on a walking path on the campus of NewBridge on the Charles, a senior living community, around 9 a.m. when he was attacked by a boxer that was not on a leash, according to a Facebook post from Dedham Animal Control. He received multiple injuries and was brought to the hospital by ambulance.

Animal Control officers said the dog was with three women in their 20s or 30s. In addition to the boxer, they had two medium-sized white dogs, which were also off-leash, with them. The women reportedly gathered the three dogs and left immediately after the incident…
