SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – The West Coast Black Theatre Troupe is hosting a two-day Juneteenth Arts Festival starting today to celebrate and pay tribute to the end of slavery in the United States.
The festival is free and open to the public and takes place June 19 and 20 on the WBTT campus at 1012 N. Orange Ave.
The festival opens today at 5:30 p.m. with the Juneteenth Arts Gallery, featuring African artifacts from The African American Cultural Resource Center’s collection, African face jugs from local ceramist Osa Atoe and digital illustration works from Tampa artist Yosnier Miranda.
