It wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did. The Ohio Men’s All-Stars, made up of local talent from Amish Country, took on the USA Softball Men’s Team Thursday, June 18 and carved out a 17-16 upset win.
Thus, to set up a revenge game scenario, USA Softball Border Battle promoters decided to alter the schedule and set the stage for what should be a spectacular finish to the three-day tournament at Winesburg Park.
On Saturday, June 20, the USA Softball Men’s Team will clash with the Ohio All-Stars in a slo-pitch game for the ages at 5:30 p.m., one that will allow Team USA a shot at redemption.
That game will serve as the precursor to two sensational games to close out the weekend, with the USA Softball Women’s Team squaring off with Team Canada Women at 7 p.m., followed by the ultimate showdown, the USA Softball Men’s Team versus Team Canada Men in what should be the crème de la crème, as North America’s best face off for bragging rights in Border Battle XVI…
