O’Connell’s Pub sold after 60 years of family ownership

ST. LOUIS – O’Connell’s Pub, a beloved Irish bar and restaurant in south St. Louis, has been sold to new ownership group that plans to take over next year.

On Friday, owner John Parker Jr. announced the sale in a Facebook post, marking the end of more than six decades in family ownership. Parker did not identify the new owners, but says details about buyers could be released in the coming months.

O’Connell’s Pub, which stands at the corner of South Kingshighway and Shaw boulevards, has served the St. Louis community since 1962, well known for its burgers and homemade soups…
