SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The former owner of Plaza Towers was sentenced to 20 months in federal prison this week after pleading guilty to tax fraud and illegal possession of a firearm. He remains in the Phelps County jail as of today.
Marco Denis was sentenced on Monday, June 15, to 20 months on each of the charges, with the terms to be served concurrently. He has already served 22 months while his case proceeds through the courts, but was sent back to jail for processing after Judge Brian Wimes imposed the sentence.
Denis was also ordered to pay $26,914 restitution on the tax charges.
