Storey county lifts Lockwood shelter-in-place advisory

Storey County, Nev. (KOLO) – 6:10 p.m. Update: Storey County has lifted the shelter-in-place advisory for Lockwood. Upper Canyon Way is still closed from the cattle guard, however, because of debris on the roadway. It’s not clear when that road will reopen.

Original Story: Storey County Emergency Management is advising people living in Lockwood to shelter in place. Officials say active flooding is affecting roads in the area, causing mudslides and water on the roadway. Canyon Road is closed at the cattleguard. And the freeway is blocked because of flood conditions.

Residents are urged to stay inside and avoid unnecessary travel, and to not attempt to drive through standing water or around barricades…
