Some sunshine for Dad on Father’s Day followed by heavy rain potential

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — High pressure will bring a very comfortable Friday night to the Miami Valley. That high will be slowly nudged away from our area as a cold front approaches during the day on Saturday. While a spotty shower can’t be ruled out, most areas will stay dry.

The sun will shine on Dad on his big day Sunday, but clouds will slowly build during the afternoon on Father’s Day before showers and thunderstorms start to arrive during the evening. Widespread rain is expected Sunday night into the first half of Monday.

Sunday also marks the official start of Summer. The summer solstice arrives at 4:24 a.m. This is the exact time when the Earth’s tilt on its axis will be closest to the sun. We’ll enjoy the most daylight of any other day this year…
