Papasavvas clocks fastest lap and highest speed at Indianapolis Friday Practice 1

Will start race 1 from #3 position inside row 2 Saturday at Indy

LOVELAND, OH (June 19, 2026) – Evagoras Papasavvas dominated the morning practice at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Friday clocking the fastest lap time (1:22.445) and the fastest speed turning in a 106.500/MPH in his #71 Crosslink Motorsports Formula Regional Americas car on lap 4.

Even with the fastest lap and speed for the day. Evagoras proved a little slower in the afternoon practice/provisional qualifying ending the session with the third fastest lap and speed less than 1/2 second behind the pole qualifier Brady Golan. That effort places Papasavvas and the #71 Crosslink Motorsports car #3 on the starting grid – inside position on the second row – for the FRA Championship Race #1 at IMS Saturday. It’s a timed 35 minute race with start time 1:25 P.M. and finish set for 2:00 P.M.

Evagoras enters the three-race weekend event at IMS as the Driver Championship points leader with 118.5 points after the first eight Formula Regional Americas championship rounds. Brady Golan and Cooper Shipman stand second & third with just 1/2 point separating them (87.5 for Golan and 87 for Shipman). They trail Papasavvas by 31 and 31.5 points respectively. Papasavvas hopes to continue to increase his driver championship lead with a potential for a maximum of 75 points with a sweep of P1 finishes in all three races. He is currently riding a three-track winning streak after earning P1 finishes in races at NOLA, Road America, and Mid-Ohio to start the Formula Regional Americas 2026 Championship racing season.
