SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — An alleged burglary prompted a heavy police presence Saturday afternoon at the intersection of Hollister Street and Iris Avenue in the Nestor community, the San Diego Police Department said.
According to SDPD, the burglary occurred around 1:10 p.m. while the resident was inside the home. The resident was reportedly able to leave the home, but authorities believe the suspect is still inside.
At around 3:30 p.m., police swarmed the area and began calling out to the suspect in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. SWAT units are also en route, according to SDPD.
It is unknown at this time if the intruder is armed. At around 4 p.m., the suspect was seen being taken into custody.
