The first elk to use the newly constructed Greenland Wildlife Overpass have been spotted, according to a Facebook post from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT).
A video captured shows three elk make their way across the overpass.
According to CDOT, the overpass crosses Interstate 25 (I-25) near the Greenland Interchange between Larkspur and Monument, and is the world’s largest structure over a major roadway for wildlife to cross. Completed in December 2025, it was built through a partnership between CDOT, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), and Douglas County.
