LOWESVILLE, N.C. — Two people are dead after a head-on crash in Lincoln County on Father’s Day. It happened on N.C. Highway 16 near Sifford Road just after midnight, June 21.
State Troopers say a 2017 Ram pickup truck was traveling north in the southbound lane, and collided head-on with a 2021 Mercedes van at around 12:04 a.m. Both vehicles were engulfed in flames, according to first-responders. The driver of the Ram, 33-year-old Alejandro Sierra Gutierrez of Vale, was pronounced dead at the scene.
