Horry Electric outage restored after 10K left without power

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — An Horry Electric power outage affected over 10,000 people in the Burgess community Sunday morning.

The outage was initially reported to have over 10,000 customers without power at the Burgess and Island Green substations. As of 9:45 a.m., approximately 5,500 customers were still without power. Online outage maps showed full restoration around 10:15 a.m.

Crews from Horry Electric and Santee Cooper were dispatched to determine the cause of the outage and to restore power…
