A state Attorney General’s Office report on major police discipline shows three Central Jersey law enforcement officials were terminated last year, including Manville Police Chief Thomas Herbst, who was fired after being convicted of official misconduct.
Herbst was not the only high-ranking Manville officer to leave the department. Lt. Paul Meixner resigned after he was charged and pleaded guilty to six departmental violations related to improper handling of a firearm and misconduct, the report states.
