Cool and cloudy in the wake of Sunday’s storms, storm surveys Monday

ST. LOUIS – A batch of intense rainfall gave way to powerful and tornadic storms across Illinois Sunday afternoon and evening. NWS crews will be out Monday to survey storm damaged areas, especially in Jefferson and Marion Counties in IL.

Monday dawns quieter and cooler, with breezy conditions early that will ease after sunup. Cloudy skies to start will give way to a slow clearing through the afternoon. There may be a few more showers Monday morning across our southernmost counties, Reynold, Iron, and Madison in MO, but the rest of the area stays dry. Highs Monday will only be in the mid-70s.
