Inmates face attempted murder charges after fight at Gaston County jail

Two inmates who were being held at the Gaston County Detention Center are facing several charges, including attempted murder after allegedly attacking a police officer.

At a first appearance on June 22, Prosecutor Stephanie Hamlin said 32-year-old Travis Burrage and 30-year-old Christian Campbell got into a fight with one officer, hitting him in the face and body, strangling him and attempting to push him down a flight of stairs.
