St. Petersburg Launches Food Truck Academy To Train Mobile Food Business Owners

The city of St. Petersburg wants someone to build and run a Food Truck Academy. The program will teach residents how to start mobile food businesses. City officials posted the request Tuesday.

Whoever wins this contract has a lot to do. They’ll create lessons, teach classes, and coach people through the process. They’ll track how participants do and write up a report when it’s done. The city wants one provider to handle everything.

According to the St. Pete Catalyst, students will learn about concept creation, menu design, permits, food safety, business setup, money management, pricing, day-to-day operations, marketing, insurance, and how to grow. Participants get workbooks, templates, online tools, and one-on-one help to turn their ideas into real businesses…
