WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A walk home from work turned into an armed confrontation for a local resident on Sunday night, ending in the arrest of five young men who now face severe felony charges over a $30 vape pen.
The incident unfolded on June 21, 2026, at around 9:36 p.m. near Avenue K SW and 6th Street SW. According to police records, the victim was walking home after finishing a work shift when a silver Nissan Frontier pickup truck pulled up next to him and came to a stop. Five males jumped out of the vehicle and aggressively demanded that the victim hand over everything in his pockets.
When the victim responded that he only had his cell phone and a vape pen, one of the men lifted his shirt to reveal a handgun tucked into his waistband. The suspect demanded both items. The group began searching the victim’s pockets and pulled out the vape pen…
