KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Police gathered near train tracks Monday night in Kalamazoo, where an Amtrak train was stopped on the tracks and a bike was recovered.
It happened near the intersection of Stadium Drive and Oliver Street, near Western Michigan University. A News 8 crew at the scene around 10 p.m. saw a Kalamazoo Forensic Crime Lab and multiple Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety cruisers.
A passenger Amtrak train — which appeared to be 354 Wolverine Michigan service train coming from Chicago, according to the Amtrak app — was stopped on the tracks but began moving just before 11 p.m. It’s not clear why the train was stopped or what led up to it. News 8 reached out to Amtrak but did not immediately hear back…
