Saline County begins cleanup after widespread damage from winds

SALINE COUNTY, Ark. – Saline County residents spent Monday assessing damage and beginning cleanup efforts after powerful winds swept through the area early in the morning, leaving downed trees, scattered debris, and thousands without power.

While conditions improved significantly throughout the day, evidence of the storm’s strength remained visible across neighborhoods, where fallen branches and uprooted trees lined roads and properties. Utility crews worked throughout the day to restore electricity as residents checked on neighbors and helped clear debris.

Many residents said the storm intensified rapidly, catching them off guard as they prepared to leave for work.

“We live right on the outskirts of Benton, and around 6:30 this morning, it was starting to pick up a bit,” said Saline County resident Brayden Henley. “Then 7:30 or 8 rolls around, and we got hammered with wind out of nowhere.”…
