NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — An official groundbreaking was held for the Raising Cane’s 9th Ward Stadium at LCMC Health Field on Monday, June 22.
According to a news release, the stadium will be located in the Upper Ninth Ward and Desire neighborhoods. It will serve as the anchor home field for George Washington Carver High School and will remain available to schools throughout NOLA Public Schools, as well as for community events and wellness activities.

The stadium will feature an artificial turf field, grandstand seating for around 3,700 spectators, a press box, scoreboard, locker rooms, concessions, restrooms, parking and landscaped gathering areas.
