NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Come Aug. 1, the city’s largest provider of electronic monitors for people who might otherwise be in jail says he can no longer provide the city with a valuable crime-fighting tool free of charge. The owner of ASAP Release says he’s losing money and predicts further jail overcrowding.
Matt Dennis’ ASAP Release Monitoring company has placed monitors on hundreds of defendants who are electronically tracked, and he’s made that information readily available.
