Pizza Hut started small in Kansas and is now selling for $2.7 billion

A fast-food pizza chain that started in Kansas is getting a new parent company.

Pizza Hut, which got its start in Wichita, will be sold to LongRange Capital, a private equity firm, from Fortune 500 companyYum Brands. Pizza Hut in Mainland China will be acquired by Yum China Holdings, according to a June 16 news release.
