COXSACKIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — New York State Police have launched an investigation following a fire at an abandoned building in Coxsackie on Thursday. The incident has been deemed suspicious by authorities.

The fire reportedly occurred at 13066 Route 9W. State Police said they were dispatched to the scene just after 3:05 p.m. after the New Baltimore Fire Department requested assistance.
According to a preliminary investigation, multiple motorists on Route 9W northbound had seen smoke coming from the structure and contacted emergency services. Police said the building became engulfed in flames shortly after the initial reports.

The New Baltimore Fire Department successfully extinguished the fire and no injuries were reported, according to police. However, the fire was deemed suspicious in nature by the Greene County Fire Investigation Team.
