As part of Nonprofit Week, organizations across the region were recognized for the work and services they provide in their communities.
The Nonprofit Partnership hosted its annual Excellence Awards Breakfast on Tuesday morning at the 1020 Collective, bringing together nonprofit leaders, volunteers and community supporters to celebrate achievements within the sector.
Several awards were presented during the event, including Nonprofit of the Year, Best Place to Work, Volunteer of the Year and other lifetime achievement honors recognizing outstanding contributions to the nonprofit community.
Leaders from local organizations said working in the nonprofit sector can be challenging, especially when it comes to securing funding and recruiting volunteers. However, the positive impact their organizations have on the community motivates them to continue their work and serve those in need.
