San Andreas, CA — The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is providing more details about the closure of Highway 12 on Saturday due to an investigation.
Officials report that the driver of a stalled vehicle east of Toyon was contacted, and illegal narcotics were spotted inside the vehicle.
The driver admitted it was fentanyl, and 19 grams packaged for sale were confiscated. The vehicle had also been stolen out of Hayward. A suspicious device was spotted under the hood, prompting the Calaveras and San Joaquin Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordinance Disposal Teams to respond. Highway 12 was then closed as a precaution…
