GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Harriet Evenson came to the Woman’s College, today known as UNC-Greensboro, focused on how she wanted to make a difference in the world.
She graduated in 1953 with a degree in history and wanted to become a teacher.

She met her husband, Jerome Evenson, and they moved to Arlington, Virginia. He was a science teacher who would ultimately become an assistant principal. Harriet was a language arts teacher.
