Greensboro offers money to remove lead paint from older homes

As Greensboro works toward building 10,000 new homes by 2030, city leaders say they are also focused on protecting the homes already in place. That includes helping families fix older housing problems that could impact their health and safety.

The City of Greensboro’s Lead-Safe Housing GSO Program offers free home lead testing and grants to remove or control lead-based paint hazards in qualifying homes and rental properties. The projects used to be capped at $20,000, but now the City says there is no cost limit.
