Tennessee RiverLine celebrates milestones as Knoxville-based initiative looks to the future

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A project that began as a University of Tennessee classroom assignment has grown into a regional effort spanning four states and hundreds of miles of riverfront communities.

The Tennessee RiverLine is celebrating two major milestones this year: 10 years since the original concept was developed by University of Tennessee students and five years since the launch of the project.

The initiative aims to reconnect people and communities with the Tennessee River through outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship and improved public access.
