Archbishop Sheen’s beatification to be held at the Dome in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS – Thousands of people from across the United States are expected to travel to St. Louis this fall for the beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, one of the most influential Catholic figures of the 20th century.

The ceremony will mark the final step before sainthood and will take place September 24 at The Dome at America’s Center. Tickets for the beatification Mass are now available through the Celebrate Sheen website. Organizers expect large crowds and encourage early ticket reservations.

Born in El Paso, Illinois, in 1895, Sheen became a priest in the Diocese of Peoria before rising to national prominence through radio and television. His Emmy Award-winning television show, “Life Is Worth Living,” reached millions of viewers in the 1950s. He died in 1979 at the age of 84.
