Plastikos staff trade desks for boots during Impact Week

Employees from Plastikos, Micro Mold, and Plastikos Medical are doing work a little differently this week. As part of their new initiative called Impact Week, on Tuesday, employees rolled up their sleeves to help build houses.

“Make life better” is a motto that Plastikos goes by and this week, they are living it out by volunteering for local nonprofits, including Habitat for Humanity.

Erie businesses ready for boom from summer tourism

We visited the work site of three Habitat for Humanity homes, as employees from different departments clocked in to do some construction.

“When we first got here, we helped build the form for the sidewalk and then once the concrete truck got here, it was everybody move fast,” IT manager Jason Russell told us, explaining their tasks for the day. “I’m a handy guy, I like to be outside, you know, get my hands dirty, so being able to be out here and do these things, this is just kind of my happy place other than computers,” he said, explaining why he accepted this volunteering opportunity…
