First responders, residents honored for timely rescue of driver

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Northwest Fire District Firemen and Perry Township residents were honored on Tuesday for their heroic efforts that saved the life of a fellow Perry Township resident.

Earlier this month, on June 13, a Perry Township resident suffered a cardiac emergency while driving near Union Chapel Road and Chapel Cove.

Multiple residents noticed something was wrong and began trying to help the driver, but the driver was not breathing and had no pulse. The residents called 911, and an off-duty firefighter with the Northwest Fire District heard the call and was on scene within one minute…
