Massachusetts is getting a break from the rain Wednesday, but it may not last long

Sunny skies and seasonable temperatures are expected to return to Massachusetts on Wednesday after a dour and rainy start to the work week.

The rain was continuing to head offshore of Cape Cod and the Islands early Wednesday morning, with most of the precipitation cleared out by sunrise. Some patchy fog is expected, due to the recent rainfall, but National Weather Service forecasters said it is likely to burn off with the sun rising and winds picking up.

“With the wave responsible for this rain continuing offshore and more westerly winds picking up, expect a sunnier, drier day across southern New England today with highs in the low 80s and upper 70s,” forecasters wrote…
