Shoulder closures disrupt I-530 Northbound traffic through October

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AR. (KTAL/KMSS) – Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 530 should prepare for persistent right shoulder closures as construction work continues through fall.

The closures will occur on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. through October 30 and will impact a 19-mile stretch between Exit 39 in Pine Bluff and the Grant/Pulaski County line north of Exit 20 in Redfield.

Closings and Delays

Weather permitting, utility crews will be working on and near the right shoulder, leading to periodic closures. Officials said only the shoulder is scheduled to close, but intermittent construction activity throughout the corridor may cause minor traffic disruptions.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution when traveling through the work zone, remain alert for construction personnel and equipment, obey all posted signs and speed limits, and allow additional travel time, particularly during weekday daytime hours…
